Travel boom? Kazakh hotels earned 43 billion in 3 months

About 43 billion tenge were earned by Kazakhstan hotels in the first quarter of 2023, Tengri Travel reports. From January to March, 228 thousand only foreign guests stayed in them.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, in the first three months of 2022, hotels in the country managed to receive 26.3 billion tenge. Revenues increased by more than 1.6 times in 2023 compared to the same period last year.

At the beginning of the year, the number of hotels in Kazakhstan amounted to 4 thousand, their total capacity - 203 thousand beds.

"With the increase in the number of domestic and foreign tourists, the volume of hotel services has also grown. For example, since the beginning of summer, the number of foreigners arriving in our country has increased 3 times compared to the same period in 2022.

From China - 8.5 times, from India - 4.7 times, from South Korea - 3.8 times, from Iran - 3.8 times, from Germany - 3 times, from the USA - 2 times, 2 times,” said the press secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, Moldir Abdualieva.
