Kazakhstan's will be able to stay longer in Thailand without a visa
Citizens of Kazakhstan can stay in Thailand without a visa for 60 days, Tengri Travel reports with reference to Business Standard.

This became possible thanks to the decision of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Thailand, which expanded the visa-free regime for 93 countries and territories, including Kazakhstan. Previously, citizens of Kazakhstan could stay in Thailand without a visa for only 30 days.

"Citizens of these countries can visit Thailand for 60 days without a visa for tourism or short-term business trips," said Interior Ministry spokeswoman Traisuri Taisaranakul.

She also added that the number of countries whose citizens can obtain a visa on arrival has increased from 19 to 31. All changes will come into force after publication in the Royal Gazette.

Thanks to the new visa-free regime, travelers from Kazakhstan and other countries can enter Thailand without the need for a visa before or after arrival. However, they must undergo border controls where their passports are checked.

In the first six months of this year, 18.2 million foreign tourists visited Thailand, up 35 percent compared to the same period in 2023. This brought the country an income of 858 billion baht, equivalent to 11.2 trillion tenge. The largest groups of tourists in 2024 were citizens of China, Malaysia and India.
Thailand has also introduced a new Destination Thailand Visa, aimed at digital nomads, freelancers and those looking to learn new skills such as cooking and martial arts. This visa allows you to stay in the country for up to 180 days and is valid for five years.

In the first quarter of this year, Thailand received 9.4 million foreign tourists, bringing about 454.6 billion baht to the country's economy, equivalent to 5.94 trillion tenge. The Thai government is targeting a record 40 million tourists this year as it aims to return to pre-Covid 2019 levels.
It is noted that this decision will be a significant step to strengthen tourism ties between Kazakhstan and Thailand, and will also contribute to the development of economic cooperation between the two countries.

We previously reported that Kazakhstan and Morocco are preparing to conclude an agreement on a visa-free regime, which will allow Kazakhstanis to stay in Morocco without a visa for up to 30 days. More details in the material.
