Agritourism will provide employment to more than 10 thousand rural residents

This year, work will continue to improve the mechanisms of state support measures in the tourism sector. This promise was made by the Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ermek Marzhikpayev.

- In order to further develop the industry, the ministry has been developing new initiatives since the beginning of the year. One of these innovations has already come into force; within its framework, the period of preferential lending has been increased from 7 to 10 years for hotels with an international franchise. Another initiative is to allow farmers to engage in agrotourism on their lands, said Ermek Marzhikpayev at a Government meeting.

According to him, this will create additional employment for more than 10 thousand rural residents.

- In addition, work continues to endow akimats with legislative competencies for the construction of tourism infrastructure outside populated areas and in national parks. Currently, in order to provide tourist destinations with the necessary infrastructure, within the framework of a temporary decision of the Investment Headquarters, since this year, akimats have been working to implement infrastructure projects for tourism facilities, including without the withdrawal of land plots on the territory of national parks. To consolidate these initiatives at the legislative level, work is already underway together with deputies, the minister added.
