Kazakhstan improved its position in the world tourism rankings, taking 52nd place out of 119 in the list of tourist destinations, according to the World Economic Forum's Travel and Tourism Development Index.
In the previous ranking, Kazakhstan ranked 66th among 117 countries.
“Our country received the highest marks in the following categories: price competitiveness (2nd place), socio-economic effect from tourism (5), healthcare and hygiene (23), natural (30) and cultural resources (48), as well as human capital and labor market (43) and tourism infrastructure and services (47),” the report says.
Kazakhstan has become the country with the highest rate in Central Asia, overtaking countries such as Azerbaijan (56), Uzbekistan (78), Kyrgyzstan (102).
