Kazakh Tourism predicts a recovery in tourist flows from China to Kazakhstan

We predict a recovery in tourist flows from China to Kazakhstan by the end of 2023. Shyryn Musina, Director of the Promotion Department of JSC NC Kazakh Tourism, stated this to a Kazinform correspondent at the International Exhibition of the Chinese Overseas Travel and Tourism Market (COTTM) taking place in Beijing.

“Based on the results of the first half of 2023, we see that the tourist flow from China to Kazakhstan has recovered by 45%. We predict that by the end of this year the tourist flow from China will fully recover to pandemic levels,” she said.

According to her, in 2019, more than 88 thousand tourists from China visited Kazakhstan.

“In 2024, we predict further growth in the tourist flow from China to Kazakhstan,” she noted.

The representative of Kazakh Tourism stressed that 2024 has been declared the Year of Kazakh Tourism in China. Next year a number of events related to the tourism and culture sector are planned, including info tours, blog tours and others.

25 representatives of the tourism industry of Kazakhstan are participating in the International Exhibition of the Chinese Overseas Travel and Tourism Market (COTTM), which takes place in Beijing from November 15 to 17.
