Last year, 389 billion tenge of taxes were received from tourism activities

According to the National Bank, one tourist from far abroad, who visited Kazakhstan, on average brings in an income of $ 1,500. Every foreign tourist creates two jobs,the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Sports reports. 

Last year, about 1 million foreign tourists visited the country. As a result, a record result was recorded for taxes from tourism activities of 389 billion tenge. A placements in the country earned 183 billion tenge. 

"Over the past two years, the number of people employed in the tourism sector has increased significantly in Kazakhstan, reaching almost 500 thousand people. The Ministry of Culture and Sports plans to provide 800 thousand people with jobs in the tourism sector by 2029," said Vice Minister of Culture and Sports Yerzhan Yerkinbayev.
