More than 8 thousand medical tourists are expected to visit Kazakhstan
About 5 thousand people came to Kazakhstan in 2022 for treatment and diagnosis. This year, more than 8 thousand are expected to come. Such results and plans for the future were shared today by experts on the sidelines of a panel session on medical tourism, Khabar 24 reports.
The event started within the framework of the forum of mayors of twin cities of Astana on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the capital. Belarus, Russia, Israel, China, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are also among the participating countries. According to the Kazakhstan Medical Tourism Association, most of them come to Kazakhstan for treatment from neighboring countries, the influx of patients also from Germany, the USA, Israel, the UAE, Switzerland is growing. First of all, foreigners are attracted by affordable prices and the availability of technologies in cardiac surgery, cardiology, neurosurgery, reproductive medicine and dentistry.

If we are talking about neurosurgery, then this is already a sensational gamma knife, which is the only one available in Central Asia, this is Vanadis technology, non-invasive prenatal screening, when moms can find out if there are genetic abnormalities without puncturing the placenta. If we are talking about check-ups, about diagnostics, then in countries, Russia, we are about 1.5 times lower, if about Germany, Israel, then we are 3 times lower in price.
