Gulf countries intend to launch a single tourist visa

The Gulf countries plan to launch a single tourist visa in 2024.

According to Khaleej Times, the document will be called GCC Grand Tours and will allow tourists to spend more than 30 days in six countries. At the moment, diplomatic missions are working on electronic visas. Employees say they want checkout to be quick and secure.

"We don't want to make life more difficult for people and we need to maintain a high level of security. In addition, we need to see a positive outcome for the regional economy," added Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, head of the UAE's Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority.

With this measure, officials plan to increase the flow of tourists to the region. Gulf countries are working with major operators and companies to create service packages.

"Guests can come to Bahrain and stay three nights and then travel to Oman and Saudi Arabia. We are promoting the entire region in one package. In particular, we have signed a memorandum of understanding with Saudi Arabia to promote the two countries as one destination." – said Director General of the Bahrain Tourism Authority Sarah Buhiji.
