This year, according to D.Maliyev, the airport intends to serve a record 1 million passengers.
Today, flights are operated to 11 destinations, including 5 international ones: to Istanbul, Sharm el-Sheikh, Moscow, Antalya and Baku. Flights to Phuket and Dubai will resume in the winter. Work is underway to open flights to Urumqi, Tashkent, Mineralnye Vody, resume flights to Tbilisi and Kazan.
This year, the number of flights to Astana has been increased from 25 to 30 per week, to Baku - from 2 to 3, and to Antalya - from 4 to 9.
In order to prevent the problems that the air harbor faced last year due to the condition of the plates, the regional akim Yeraly Tugzhanov inspected the runway and stressed the need for timely completion of all repairs planned for this year. Akim also drew the attention of the airport management to a significant decrease in cargo traffic and revenues.
So, in the current year, 4,000 tons of cargo have been handled, 1,266 flights have been serviced. It was instructed to strengthen the work in these areas, as well as speed up the implementation of the project for the construction of a modern logistics center at the airport with the participation of the national postal operator Kazpost.
