An exhibition of works by Kazakh photographers was presented in Brussels. Thanks to the exhibition, the residents of Belgium learned the history of our country a little better, says Khabar 24 correspondent Zhanat Ernst.
A gallery of ancient European maps of the Kazakh state, the decoration of a yurt, archival photographs of the closure of the Semipalatinsk test site, as well as photographs of the natural landscapes of our country. The presented works told the guests of the exhibition about the unique culture of Kazakhstan, the heritage of our ancestors, nature, as well as the tragic consequences of nuclear tests.
Margulan Baimukhan, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Belgium and Luxembourg, head of the mission of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the EU and NATO:
- Naturally, this is connected with ecotourism, with ethnotourism. Because tourism is one of the important components of any country’s economy. I think this is also in line with the new economic model of the country, which we hear about, we know, this is what the President said in his Address, what was said at the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, where our President proposed an initiative to jointly promote tourism brand "Central Asia".
Olivier, exhibition visitor:
- Thanks to today's exhibition and the stories of diplomats, I now know much more about your country, its beauty, natural resources and economic potential. Central Asia is a very interesting region for Europeans. And I would really like to visit Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. See the cities through which the Silk Road passed.
In 2 days, hundreds of residents and guests of the EU capital, as well as diplomats and students, were able to hear the sound of the dombra, try on Kazakh national costumes and take memorable photographs.
BLITZ:
- I am from Turkey, we have common roots. I really liked it here, especially the Kazakh cuisine, which is similar to ours. I learned more about the nomadic culture and saw a yurt here. I really want to visit Kazakhstan and its capital Astana.
- I am a fan of the work of Dimash Kudaibergen. He has been very successful in sharing his love for Kazakhstan with us. Therefore, I really want to learn more about your country. I was already in Almaty last year, the people there are very friendly and hospitable. And I would like to return to Kazakhstan again.
The environmental friendliness and rich philosophy of nomadic housing allowed visitors to come into contact with the traditions and symbols of the Kazakh cultural heritage and, of course, enjoy the dishes of the Kazakh national cuisine.
