A new international passenger air route was launched this week between the city of Yining in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR) of China and the city of Almaty.
The city of Yining became the third airport in the XUAR, open to international relations, along with the cities of Urumqi and Kashgar.
According to the Yining airport administration, flights on this route will be operated once a week.
As noted by local media, the opening of new flights will intensify business, tourism and humanitarian exchanges between countries.
Let us remind you that since November 2023, a visa-free regime has been in effect between China and Kazakhstan. 2024 has been declared the Year of Kazakh Tourism in China, and the city of Almaty has received the status of the tourist and cultural capital of the SCO for the period of the chairmanship of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
