Kazakhstan and Iceland top the list of travel destinations among Chinese tourists

Kazakhstan and Iceland have become favorite destinations among Chinese tourists.

Such data was obtained during a study of consumer sentiment in China conducted by Dragon Trail International. According to him, Iceland remains the most interesting destination for Chinese tourists. The results of the study are published on Skift.com.

It is clarified that Iceland became the surprise favorite for the first time in the Dragon Trail poll in August 2023. It is noted that social networks and broadcasts about this country played a special role in popularization.

“The easing of visa requirements also played an important role in attracting Chinese travelers to Kazakhstan. After the introduction of a visa-free regime between Kazakhstan and China in 2023, the number of trips from China to our country increased by 115 percent,” Kazakh Tourism reported.

According to ForwardKeys China market analyst Nancy Dai, Kazakhstan's outstanding performance is also due to a 23 percent increase in the number of flights.

Dai noted that the availability of tour packages and the attractiveness of winter activities have also increased the country's attractiveness to Chinese tourists.

According to Kazakh Tourism, with the opening of the Year of Kazakhstan Tourism in China, our country expects an even greater flow of tourists from the Middle Kingdom.

By the way, Chinese tourists are also willing to travel to Hong Kong, Singapore and Switzerland, due to the high sense of security in these countries.
