Where to relax in Aktobe region

AKTOBE. KAZINFORM. Tourism has been actively developing in the Aktobe region in recent years. The region is rich in unique sacred monuments, natural sights, some of which keep the memory of the ancient ocean and people of the Stone Age, Kazinform correspondent reports.

The head of the regional department of entrepreneurship Nurkhan Tleumuratov said that work is underway in the region to develop tourism and increase tourism potential. There are 23 routes, there are 859 historical and cultural monuments, 3 sanatoriums, 8 specially protected natural areas.

Among the population, citizens of near and far abroad, 7 tourist sites are very popular. Among them are the Aktolagay chalk mountains, Wolf waterfall, Akkum sands, Barkyn sands, "Mute" village, "Orkash" reserve, Toleubulak cave.

The Aktolagay chalk plateau is a striking natural landmark of the Aktobe region. Here you can stay for one or two days to get around as many bizarre snow-white mountains and caves as possible, look for the remains of ancient animals in the stones, see the legendary Chessmen Valley, the Mugalzhar mountain range, the Kargaly reservoir.

120 kilometers from Aktobe in the Kargaly region there is a place called the Wolf waterfall. It is beautiful in early spring - in May, when melt waters rapidly flow into the crevice and form a picturesque waterfall.

In the village of Altai batyr, Baiganinsky district, on the right bank of the Sagyz River, there is a sandy valley Akkum 40 kilometers long and 15 kilometers wide. The sands of Akkum are fine-grained, free-flowing, it seems that they are snow-white.

Barkyn sands are located in the Uil district - one of the few places where you can take therapeutic sand baths that are useful for diseases of the musculoskeletal system. It is believed that there used to be a sea in this place. Now the water has receded, leaving extraordinary hills of sand with an area of 35,000 hectares. Another miracle of this place is the magnificent pine forest, which appeared like an oasis in the desert, and makes the sands of Barkyn unique. Groundwater is located under the sands, thanks to which this forest has grown.

Mute village in the Kargaly region is a favorite place for tourists who appreciate the enjoyment of natural beauties. A beautiful view of the Ashchelisai lake, steep cliffs, the possibility of swimming and fishing make Mute village a great place to relax. There are several legends about the origin of the name of this place. According to one of them, a clairvoyant lived here, whose name no one knew. The people came to him with questions, but a woman came out to the people, who conveyed the visions of this seer. Hence the name "Mute village" came from, since everything was quiet and without unnecessary conversations. According to another version, once this village, due to the lack of conditions necessary for a full life, was massively left by all the inhabitants, except for one shepherd named Ratai. He was mute from birth, but his act without words became proof of love for his native land. In honor of him, the place was nicknamed "Mute".

A real botanical paradise is located in the Mugalzhar region in the Orkash reserve. The kingdom of dozens of species of rare birds and plants, including those listed in the Red Book. Everything here is unusual for a local typical landscape - a forest in the middle of the steppe of birches, aspens and willows, hawthorn and wild rose bushes, and incredibly beautiful forbs. An incredible number of birds settled in the Orkash Reserve. Not far from the forest there is a natural composition of stone blocks that have grown into the ground and reach a height of two meters.

13 kilometers northeast of the village of Bulakty in the Mugalzhar region there are unique caves with petroglyphs Toleubulak. The petroglyphs of the Toleubulak cave were discovered and introduced into scientific circulation in 2000 during the research of a joint international Kazakh-Russian expedition that studied the Stone Age sites of the Mugalzhar region. More than 10 thousand years ago, people of the Stone Age painted images in the Toleubulak cave. Drawings 5 centimeters deep and 15-25 centimeters in diameter are carved on the floor of the cave. In a small cave there are petroglyphs that look like hooves or mushrooms, anthropomorphs and deep lines. Scientists are of the opinion that the above symbols existed in

Mesolithic time, even during the Paleolithic and Neolithic times. This complex is one of the ancient archaeological monuments of the Stone Age of Kazakhstan. According to legend, the cave was named after Toleu from the Zhakayym clan of the Shekti tribe of the Younger Zhuz, who migrated to the Mugalzhar mountains from the Northern Aral about 250-300 years ago.

“Such objects as the Aktolagay chalk mountains, the Akkum sands in the Baiganin district have a high potential, we are working on their development. Last year, three camping zones were opened, this year we plan to create seven camping zones, including in the Orkash area of the Mugalzhar district, on the Kargaly reservoir,” said Nurkhan Tleumuratov.

In 2022, the first air balloon festival in the western region was organized - "Sheksiz Aspan", the annual international festival "Qargaly Fest", triathlon competitions "Qazaq Man", information tours for foreign tour operators and bloggers, during which for the first time in Kazakhstan was presented "industrial tourism". In total, 225 thousand residents and guests of the region took part in the events. The implementation of these projects will continue.

Two operators are actively involved in the development of domestic tourism in Aktobe, which attracted about 17 thousand tourists last year. The routes are very popular with local residents, citizens of Italy and Portugal, Russia. After the info tours with the participation of bloggers, there is an increased interest among the residents of Almaty and Astana.

According to N. Tleumuratov, about 187 thousand tourists were attracted to the Aktobe region in 2022, which is 28.7% more than in 2021, and this year they plan to attract almost 200 thousand tourists, including over 33 thousand foreign tourists.
