The Ministry of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan has proposed to introduce tourist cashback from 5 to 20 percent for tourist trips around the country in the low season.
Chairman of the Tourism Industry Committee Nurtas Karipbayev believes that the introduction of tourist cashback "will allow to develop an organized culture of recreation and increase the availability of travel within the country.
According to the draft of the Ministry, the amount of cashback will depend on the number of days spent by a tourist on vacation.
So, for one night it is proposed to return 5 percent of the cost of the tour, for two days - 10 percent, for three days - 15 percent.
Tourists who rest for four days or more will be able to get a maximum cashback of 20 percent.
It will be possible to return part of the funds for tours purchased both through Kazakhstani tour operators and on local marketplaces. At the same time, it is planned to oblige the marketplace to pay cashback immediately after the purchase of the tour, and then the state will compensate these costs.
"The project is still in development. Discussions are underway with representatives of the tourist market," the message says.
