Requirements for tour operators have been expanded in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan has expanded the qualification requirements for tourism operator activities. The corresponding order was published by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.

According to the order, qualification requirements include:

- Formed tourism product. Confirmation is information about contracts with third parties for the provision of certain tourism services included in the formed tourism product;

- The presence of at least one employee with a tourism education and with at least one year of work experience;

- Office premises on property rights or other legal grounds;

- A bank guarantee agreement concluded with a second-tier bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan in accordance with subparagraph 1) of paragraph 1 of Article 27-3 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Tourism Activities in the Republic of Kazakhstan” for tour operators in the field of outbound tourism.

The order comes into force on February 6, 2024.
