Why tourists began to visit Aktobe region more often?

Active development of tourism is observed in Aktobe region. In 2022, about 187 thousand tourists visited the region, which is 28.7% more than the previous year. The meeting on tourism development was held in the regional akimat, Kazinform correspondent reports.

“Attracting investments in the tourism sector remains one of the priority areas of our work. This issue is inextricably linked with the development of domestic tourism. We have every opportunity to open new routes. Our task is to make the Aktobe region as attractive as possible for tourists,” said Akim of the region Yeraly Tugzhanov.

Nurkhan Tleumuratov, head of the entrepreneurship department, said that work is underway in the region to develop tourism and increase tourism potential. There are 23 routes, 859 historical and cultural monuments, 3 sanatoriums, 8 specially protected natural areas.

Among the population, citizens of near and far abroad, 7 tourist sites are very popular. Among them are the Aktolagay chalk mountains, Wolf waterfall, Akkum sands, Barkyn sands, "Mute" village, "Orkash" reserve, Toleubulak cave.

“Such objects as the Aktolagay chalk mountains, the Akkum sands in the Baiganin district have a high potential, we are working on their development. Last year, three camping zones were opened, this year we plan to create seven camping zones, including in the Orkash area of the Mugalzhar district, on the Kargaly reservoir,” said Nurkhan Tleumuratov.

In 2022, the first air balloon festival in the western region was organized - "Sheksiz Aspan", the annual international festival "Qargaly Fest", triathlon competitions "Qazaq Man", information tours for foreign tour operators and bloggers, during which for the first time in Kazakhstan was presented "industrial tourism". In total, 225 thousand residents and guests of the region took part in the events. The implementation of these projects will continue.

Two operators are actively involved in the development of domestic tourism in Aktobe, which attracted about 17 thousand tourists last year. The routes are very popular with local residents, citizens of Italy and Portugal, Russia. After the info tours with the participation of bloggers, there is an increased interest among the residents of Almaty and Astana.

According to N. Tleumuratov, about 187 thousand tourists were attracted to the Aktobe region in 2022, which is 28.7% more than in 2021, and this year they plan to attract almost 200 thousand tourists, including over 33 thousand foreign tourists.  

Yeraly Tugzhanov instructed to prepare a project for each tourist site, as well as proposals for maximizing the attraction of tourists.

“The facilities located in the Kargaly region have a high potential. We are ready to support entrepreneurs who are engaged in their development. There are so many unique places in our region, they need to be shown to the whole world,” the regional akim emphasized.

At the end of the meeting, the head of the region gave a number of specific instructions, in particular, an individual tourism program will be developed in each district of the region and in Aktobe.
