The number of domestic tourists in Kazakhstan increased by 400 thousand people

In the first half of the year, more than 3 million Kazakhstanis rested in the country. According to the results of the first half of this year, the number of domestic tourists in Kazakhstan amounted to 3.1 million people. In comparison with the same period last year, the indicator increased by 400 thousand people. This number is almost 1 million more than in the pre-pandemic period of the same period. This was announced at the International Forum on Tourism Development in Aktau by the Minister of Tourism and Sports Yermek Marzhikpayev, the press service of MTS reports.       

According to him, at the end of the year, 9 million domestic tourists are projected. The number of foreign tourists increased by 1.8 times, and the figure is more than 500 thousand guests. By the end of 2023, 1.4 million intourists are projected.

The Minister noted that since 2019, Kazakhstan has launched more than 400 investment projects totaling about 437 billion tenge.                                            

This year, it is planned to implement 115 projects worth 288 billion tenge. These projects will create more than 14 thousand beds and more than 1.5 thousand permanent jobs.
