Kazakhstan become a desirable destination for tourists? The ministry showed statistics

The number of foreigners who arrived in Kazakhstan since the beginning of summer has increased 3 times compared to 2022. This was announced by the Ministry of Culture and Sports (ISS), Tengritravel.kz reports.

"According to the information system eQonaq, from June 1 to July 23, 250,468 foreign citizens stayed in the country's hotels. This is more than 3 times higher than in the same period last year. In 2022, during this time, 77,645 foreign citizens rested in domestic hotels tourists," the statement said.

The number of tourists from the CIS countries amounted to 180 thousand or 72 percent of the total. Interestingly, last year the same figure was 77 percent. That is, the proportion of tourists from far abroad is increasing.

"So, the number of tourists from Mongolia increased 11.6 times, from China - 8.5 times, from India - 4.7 times, from South Korea - 3.8 times, from Iran - 3.8 times. from Germany - 3 times, from the USA - 2.2 times," the ISS said.

The main destinations for foreign tourists in the country are Almaty city (77,308 tourists from June 1 to July 23), Astana city (38,463 tourists), Almaty region (19,049 tourists) and Mangistau region (15,062 tourists).

Previously, the city of Kazakhstan, which brought the most tourist contributions to the budget, was named.
