Kazakhstan has sharply become more popular among residents of China and India

The head of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Ermek Marzhikpayev, told how many tourists from China and India came to Kazakhstan in 2023.

During the department's board meeting, the minister noted that the country's international openness has a positive impact on the growth of foreign tourists.

“Currently, there is a visa-free regime with 82 countries, including such large tourist markets as China and India. We are seeing a significant increase in visitors from these countries. Thanks to the introduction of a 14-day visa-free regime for Chinese citizens in July 2022 and reciprocal visa-free regime with "In November 2023, the number of visitors from this country increased 12 times: from 18 thousand to 217 thousand. After the introduction of a 14-day visa-free regime, there was a threefold increase in visitors from India: from 28 thousand people in 2022 to 78 thousand people in 2023," - said Ermek Marzhikpaev.
