Kazakhstan and Egypt plan to introduce a 14-day visa-free regime

Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askhat Oralov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Kazakhstan Manal Elshinnawi discussed cooperation in the field of culture and tourism, "NewTimes.kz" reports with reference to IIA "Kazinform".

“This year Kazakhstan is celebrating the 800th anniversary of Sultan Beibars on a large scale. Events in honor of the anniversary of the great historical figure are held throughout Kazakhstan. In the coming days, the Kazakh delegation will visit Egypt to take part in the opening of the Az-Zahir Beibarys mosque and the international scientific and practical conference dedicated to Sultan Beibars. On June 4, Cairo will host a gala concert with the participation of our artists and an exhibition of applied art in honor of the days of culture of Kazakhstan in Egypt. This is a great opportunity for our workers in the field of culture and art to demonstrate their talents,” Oralov said.

In addition, the parties discussed holding the VI meeting of the intergovernmental commission in November this year.

Manal Elshinnawi announced her intention to hold an exhibition of Islamic culture of the Mamluk period in the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event is planned to be organized this year. The Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan expressed his readiness to assist in the implementation of this initiative.

Separately, they talked about cooperation in the field of tourism.

Manal Elshinnawi noted that Egypt is the third most popular destination for Kazakh tourists and expressed interest in introducing a mutual 14-day visa-free regime.

“We will also work on this issue. Kazakhstan has something to offer guests from Egypt, including investment projects in the tourism sector of our country,” the minister concluded.
