The year of Kazakhstan tourism starts in China

On March 28 - 29, the opening ceremony of the Year of Kazakhstan Tourism will be held in the capital of China.

In this regard, the Kazakh delegation flew to Beijing. It includes representatives of government authorities, artists, and famous athletes.

It should be noted that last year, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited Beijing, where he took part in the Forum of International Cooperation “One Belt – One Road”. As part of it, the heads of state held negotiations and documents were signed.

The Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ermek Marzhikpaev, proposed holding a number of important events in major cities of China, and large-scale measures were taken in connection with the development of tourism in China. In particular, a meeting was held with the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China, Xin Yeli, and issues of holding the Year of Tourism in Kazakhstan and China and its further development were discussed.

- China is considered one of the important partners for Kazakhstan in the tourism market. Because that's the geographical location. All historical deep connections along the Silk Road influence each other. Currently, the indicators of mutual tourism are again approaching the pre-pandemic indicators,” said Ermek Marzhikpayev.

The speaker noted that last year the flow of tourists from China to Kazakhstan entered the TOP-5. According to statistics, over the 9 months of last year, services were provided to more than 75 thousand Chinese tourists in Kazakhstan. The number of people arriving from China to Kazakhstan exceeded 200 thousand people.

The head of the department said that after the introduction of a visa-free regime between the two countries last year, it is planned to increase the number of direct flights to 30 per week. He also noted that a further increase in the tourist flow is possible.

According to the minister, this year tourist destinations will be presented in 7 cities of China - Beijing, Xi'an Shanghai, Urumqi, Hong Kong, Hangchhou, Chengdu.
