Kazakhstan and the European Union continue to actively work in the field of visa liberalization.
At the meeting between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Alibek Bakaev, and the Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Kazakhstan, Kestutis Jankauskas, issues of cooperation in the consular field were discussed, in particular, the holding of the second round of consultations on simplifying the visa regime of EU countries for citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The primary stages of facilitating the European visa regime are:
- introduction of a unified list of documents for applying for a visa;
- reduction of consular fees;
- reducing the time required for consideration of applications;
- increasing the validity period of multiple-entry visas.
As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on further strengthening friendly relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the EU in the consular field.
