A meeting of the delegation of the Civil Aviation Committee and the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan with representatives of the European Commission, the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the aviation authorities of EU member countries took place in Belgium.

The parties discussed issues in the areas of flight operation, airworthiness, licensing of aviation personnel, quality management systems and flight safety management.

The Chairman of the Aviation Safety Committee of the European Commission, Peter Bombay, positively assessed the work of the Kazakh aviation authorities in eliminating previously identified observations and recommendations on flight safety issues.

“During a meeting with the Deputy Directorate of the European Commission Klaus Gehl, representatives of the Civil Aviation Committee discussed the draft horizontal agreement on air services between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the European Union. The parties noted the progress made in the ongoing work to agree on the draft agreement and agreed to continue work on signing it,”  - says the press service of the KSA of Kazakhstan.

The signing of this agreement will encourage the expansion of air traffic between Europe and Kazakhstan.
