For the first half of 2023, the volume of tax revenues from tourism activities in Kazakhstan amounted to about 208 billion tenge. This is 10.4% more than in the same period last year (188.5 billion tenge), the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan reported.
Let us recall that at the end of 2022, a record level of tax revenues from tourism activities was recorded, amounting to 389 billion tenge.
“Tax revenues from tourism activities significantly exceed pre-pandemic levels. Thus, in 2019, their total volume amounted to 200.5 billion tenge. This is almost half as much as in the previous year. The volume of services provided by Kazakhstani placements is also growing. Thus, in the first half of 2023, the country’s hotels served tourists for 98.7 billion tenge. This is 45% more than for the same period last year,” said Moldir Abdualieva, official representative of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
