"Nur Gasyr" regional central mosque is designed for 3500 worshippers. The grand opening took place on September 22, 2008 with the participation of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Nursultan Nazarbayev, the President of Russia - Dmitry Medvedev and the former Supreme Mufti of Kazakhstan - Absattar Derbisali.
The building of the mosque is square shaped, at the corners of which there are minarets with a height of 63 meters each. The dome of the mosque with a height of 40 meters and a diameter of 20 meters is located in the very center of the building. The mosque also houses the "Rukhaniyat" regional museum, a room for reading the Koran, a wedding hall, a madrasah for 25 students and a diner for 300 people.
The interior of the mosque, columns, floors, stairs are lined with marble of different colors and gray granite. There is a fountain and a square at the territory of the mosque.
