Aktobe ferroalloys plant

Aktobe Ferroalloy Plant is a modern, steadily developing enterprise with a production capacity of more than 740 thousand tons of ferroalloys per year. It is a division of JSC "TNK "Kazchrome" and the first black metal metallurgical enterprise in Kazakhstan. The plant was launched in 1943.
The plant consists of 2 smelting workshops, a slag processing workshop and auxiliary workshops. The newest division of the company is the melting shop No. 4, launched in 2014. It uses an innovative technology of melting in DC furnaces, unique not only for Kazakhstan, but also for the global ferroalloy industry. The workshop is equipped with the world's most powerful (72 MW) DC furnaces for the production of high-carbon ferrochrome. The entire production process is automated as much as possible. Production solutions allow the utilization of ferroalloy gas and dust. The furnaces use domestic raw materials — fine ore and carbon reducing agents.
